Description
About the Book

Posh (1950-1988) best forwarded the paradigm of a revolutionary poet. More than political and ideological commitment, it was social and cultural alignment that impelled him to write his profoundly innovative poetry. Though in his first collection Loh Kath (Iron's Tale) his poetry leaped forward under the Naxalite influence, yet, in the second, Udhde Baajan Magar (In Pursuit of Flying Eagles) he outgrew it to a significant extent. His third collection Saade Samian Vich (In Our times) proved to be as much a poetic masterpiece as a cultural testament. His untimely death even before he was thirty-eight is the greatest loss that terrorism could inflict upon Punjabi poetry.

About the Author

Tejwant Singh Gill (b.1938) was formerly a Professor of English and is also a well-lcnown literary critic in Punjabi. He has authored several books in English and Punjabi on critical theory, cultural discourse, historiography and literary practice. His papers on Neruda and Lorca have also appeared in Spanish. He is a prodigious translator of Punjabi literature into English and vice versa. Besides poetic compositions, he has also translated novels and plays. His critical book Posh: Jeevan te Rat/tea is a much acclaimed study of the poet. He is the former editor of Alochana in Panjabi and Bharati Journal of Comparative Literature in English.

I received the Green Tara Thangka described below right on schedule. Thank you a million times for that. My teacher loved it and was extremely moved by it. Although I have seen a lot of Green Tara thangkas, and have looked at other Green Tara Thangkas you offer and found them all to be wonderful, the one I purchased is by far the most beautiful I have ever seen -- or at least it is the one that most speaks to me.
John, USA
Your website store is a really great place to find the most wonderful books and artifacts from beautiful India. I have been traveling to India over the last 4 years and spend 3 months there each time staying with two Bengali families that I have adopted and they have taken me in with love and generosity. I love India. Thanks for doing the business that you do. I am an artist and, well, I got through I think the first 6 pages of the book store on your site and ordered almost 500 dollars in books... I'm in trouble so I don't go there too often.. haha.. Hari Om and Hare Krishna and Jai.. Thanks a lot for doing what you do.. Great !
Steven, USA
