Foreword In all countries of the world are there introduced different cultures and civilizations for the development of the external materials and internal happiness of the mankind. Among them, the Buddha Dharma, particularly, the profound tantrayāna, is an unavoidable mainstream scripture for leading human being to the right way to cultivate the positive mental attitude and attain the lasting happiness. For the main sources of success in the appropriate tantric practice, the practitioner should maintain the absolute discipline or samaya of tantric vows and constantly pursue the processes of tantric meditational practices. For the fulfillment of tantric meditational practices, the great scholar Āchārya Rigzin Chotak (Dharmakirti) who belonged to the glorious Skura-clan of Drikung Kagyu has compiled the general tantrayāna teachings, particularly the characteristics of the tantric classifications, unusual vows of tantra and the different traditions of meditational processes explained by the earlier Indian and Tibetan scholars. They have reflected the vocal transmission and instruction of the spritual masters put together into Profound Instructions for Meditation.

Preface The Buddha exhibited the glory of human dignity and ushered a new age of light. By his example he showed that if a human being has a strong determination towards Dharma, it is possible to attain Enlightenment in one lifetime. He proved that all people have the opportunity to practice the Dharma, and have Buddha's nature in order to attain Enlightenment. Buddha showed that if a practitioner is able to systematically improve virtuous mental attitudes, he or she will certainly attain Enlightenment. Our Teacher, Shakyamuni was not a Enlightened from the beginning of his life, but was like us. Yet he became a Buddha by completely abandoning defilements such as desire, hatred and ignorance etc. This state of complete purification of all defilements what is known as Buddhahood. The Buddha disclosed his philosophy and religion to the human beings without any concealment of his experiences with people from all levels of society. The large number of follower received the Buddha's teachings, and many were influenced by such over arching motto Bhahujan Hitāya and Bhahujan Sukhāya which means 'Welfare and Happiness of Beings'. Thus, His glorious Dharma was spread throughout the world and the human beings have since then greatly benefited by these teachings.
