About the Book This book essentially describes the divine experiences of Late Smt. Malathi Subramaniam, the Author who had dedicated every moment of her life in Swami's Seva. Each incident is in itself no less than a rose. A humble effort has been made by the Author, in putting them together to be dedicated at the Lotus Feet of, "Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Vaaru."

Foreword Our compassionate master "Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba" lovingly called her "Malathi" with great affection. Acquaintances addressed her as "Malathi Mami", whereas we her students addressed her as "Malathi Amma" with a mixture of reverence and deep affection. For the Sai devotees of Hyderabad-Secunderabad, Late Smt. Malathi Subramaniam (06:10:1933 to 05:03:2010) was a wise guide, a pillar of strength, a gentle teacher, a nurturing mother, all rolled into one. She lived her life according to Swami's philosophy, showing us the way to integrate His teachings in our everyday life. She was the very embodiment of love, tolerance, patience and compassion. Her life was entirely devoted to Swami. We used to look forward to the class held every Saturday evening when Malathi Amma would teach us Shlokas and Bhajans. She would take great care in these classes to see that each and every one of her students understood the meaning and "bhava" of every word that we uttered and that everyone achieved the appropriate Swara and Tala. She never lost her patience with us, calmly and lovingly correcting us when required and making us repeat each song many times, till we became perfect. She would take us for participation in Bhajans and encourage us to sing along with her. Sai Bhagawan has repeatedly said that "even women can learn and recite Rudram, Sukthas and other Vedic Hymns". Accordingly, Malathi Amma taught us to recite these hymns with About the Bookthe correct pronunciation, intonation and swara.She was the epitome of simplicity and modesty. She set us an example of how to live our lives according to Swami's principles. Her life was one of discipline, integrity, tolerance and above all, total and unquestioning surrender and devotion to the lotus feet of Swami. Even as one entered her house situated in Secunderabad, we could feel the divine vibrations pervading it. One look at her serene and cheerful countenance would melt away all the worries and anxieties burdening our hearts and fill them with Divine Peace and Joy. Sage Viswamitra had described Lord Sri Rama as "Hitha Bashi, Mitha Bashi, and Poorva Bashi". The same can be said of our beloved Malathi Amma. She was undoubtedly a priceless gift given to us by Sri Sathya Sai Himself, to show us the right way of life, guiding us along with a gentle but strong and firm hand, lending us her support and wise counsel each & every time we stumbled or faltered along the way. We are eternally grateful and indebted to our "Sai Matha" for providing us with such a loving and wise teacher. In this book, the author has shown that "Sarvasya Sharanagathi" (Total Surrender) should be the goal of our life, in order to spiritually reach our ever loving and merciful Bhagawan Sri Sai.
