Foreword We are extremely happy to publish a hitherto unknown work of considerable importance on Indian philosophy. The present work called siddhanta rahasya - is composed by one jagannatha about whom almost nothing is known, yet the work is of great importance for the history of Indian philosophy since it presents a splendid synthesis of jnana and bhakti ways- a tradition which starts with the Bhagavata Purana and hence can be termed as a compromise between the Advaita of Sankara and the Visistadvaita of Ramayana.

Pt. Ramnarayan Mishra, Reader in this Vidyapeeth is an erudite scholar of various Sastra and he has shunned no pain to make this work as perfect as possible. I congratulate him on the production of this work and hope that this publication shall be received by the scholars.
