Book Description
About the Book

"In this way, the transcendent-immanent, One-without-second God who performs the Lila (play) of sadhak, sadhana and siddhi in various places, in various times and in various ways, assumed the form of Sri Krishna and out of limitless compassion, moved by our miseries, narrated to us, his own real nature - the Supreme Truth of life and of the world (i.e. Brahmavidya) and also the means of attaining it (i.e. Yogathstra) through Gita.

From all this, we come to know 'what is the Truth' i.e. `where we have to go'; we come to know 'where we are' on this path; and further we also come to know 'how to go' by that path to reach our goal."

Preface

We are indeed very happy to present to the readers, a spiritual treasure, in the form of this highly valuable book entitled, "The Spirit of Bhagavad-Rita" published by Holy Mother's Publication, in commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

This book was originally written in Marathi by Swami Shivatatvananda and published by Ramakrishna Math, Nagpur in the year 1968. In its original language it is recognised as one of the most significant spiritual works, a masterpiece, approved by countless spiritual aspirants.

Bhagavad-Gita told by Lord Krishna is actual Jivana-dargana, demonstration of life; it is an ideal scripture for moulding fully developed spiritual life with all its faculties. The ultimate goal of life is to attain Atmajliana, the knowledge of the Self and this book presents a lucid description about this goal and also about the spiritual practices for attaining it.
