About the Book

The Campu Kavya is a combination of prose and poetry. The present Campu has been composed by an erudite scholar Mandikal srirangacharya of Chikka Ballapur district of Karnataka State. It sketches of glorious life of Acharya Ramanuja, the founder of Visistadvaita Vedanta. The work consists of six vilasas. Some of the narrations like – Vaikuntha Varnanam, Kanci Varnanam, Vindhyatavi Varnanam, Ratri Varnanam, Sriranganatha Varnanam, Venkatacala Varnanam are adorned with many figures of speech. The work will be a valuable addition to the field of Sanskrit literature and useful to researchers on the life of Sri Ramanujacarya.
