About The Book
History has taught us that the left ideology has always been destructive in its quest for global control. Their promises of Collectivism and Equity, have been built on shattering social institutions like family, religion, patriotism and democracy, the very tenets on which the edifices of Western civilisation were built. In adapting to newer times, the left has garbed itself in a new ideology-Wokism. In this eye-opening, seminal book, author Abhijit Joag peels off the layers of insidious messaging that cloak leftist mechanisms that infiltrate society to redefine cultural parameters so that they gain control. Like termites, they gnaw at society from within, to create chaos and destruction. This book focuses on why India has to beware of Wokism deepening its roots in the cultural ethos of the country. For what has happened in the US today could soon take place in India. In weaponising extreme individualism, perverted feminism, sexual revolution, women's rights, transgenderism, gender fluidity and distortion of history, concepts that keep society on the boil, the aim is to view everything through an 'Oppressor-Oppressed' prism. A must-read for every Indian, at a time when the country is at a cultural tipping point.
Foreword
This book is one of the most timely and relevant books written. There is an absolute necessity to contest the narratives that the ecosystem has constructed in the last 75 years. The pushback has been made possible by a large paradigm shift in the political process since 2014, and can only be sustained if such research-backed narrative from the nationalistic and Bharatiya perspectives is constructed to counter Marxism, especially its modern avatar of Cultural Marxism or Wokism. They have developed an ecosystem that sustains them even though they have been out of power in India since 2014. They have huge international networks, and their funders run NGOs that are fronts for issues like human rights, minority rights and Critical Race Theory. The underlying theme behind these seemingly virtuous masks is an anti-Hindu agenda and Hinduphobia. To a large extent, we the Hindus are to be blamed, as we have never tried to counter the distortions in our history, and the perverted projection of our cultural ethos. This silence has given a free run to the left in their vicious attempts to denigrate India. It is all the more necessary that where faculty are recruited, the urgent need is to be writing such books as well, but one does not see that happening. It is extremely heartening that the author has such a deep and wide understanding of the challenges this issue poses for nationalist forces. This book exposes the Marxist politics of destroying cultural institutions through subversion. Marxists have dictated education, especially historical studies, nationally and internationally. In communist and socialist countries like the Soviet Union and China, history was used for propaganda to promote class warfare, which became caste warfare in India. Today, Marxist historians have been removed from power in Russia, which has gone back to honouring its Tsars, and the Chinese are taking up Confucius and Buddhism. It is time for India's Marxist historians to go the way of history as well. For them, all knowledge is for some purpose, and they need power and privilege to do this. It is not a question of truth, but loss of power and patronage that motivates the charge of intolerance from eminent Marxist historians. Marxists have rejected scholarly views that opposed their historical theories primarily on political grounds, not owing to their own research in archaeology or geology. Almost every scholar in the East or West who has questioned the Marxist view of ancient India, has been subject to political, if not personal defamation by the same leftist scholars who today portray themselves as the victims of intolerance. They have not been the victims, but rather, have been the perpetrators of intolerance for decades. So, when Indian Marxists speak of intolerance, particularly relating to historical issues, we must take a good look at their own biases and their efforts to suppress evidence, and inhibit any scholarship that does not agree with their views. This book does this in a brilliant manner. In order to further their agenda of destroying the Hindu civilization through initiatives like 'Dismantling Global Hindutva', the Marxists fashionably talk of Muslim genocide when there is none; but no one speaks of the facts of Hindu genocide throughout the medieval period. Hindu genocide took place in the Kashmir valley as late as 1990. It is these strategic silences that need to be corrected and the facts made public. One cannot normalise rape, loot, plunder and genocide. Let us remove the ghosts that have been constructed. The Marxists and the Left keep reinventing themselves. Within the realm of Woke culture, characterised by its creators and followers known as 'Wokes', an exceptional emphasis is placed on morality and righteousness. This heightened focus on morality brings to mind the insights of philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, who discussed the concept of herd mentality and its influence on moral judgements.
