About the Book The text book 'Research Methodology & Medical Statistics' is written as per the syllabus of post graduate course in Ayurveda advised by National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), New Delhi. The text book show cases the in depth detailing of syllabus points of first year post graduate paper-'Research Methodology and Medical Statistics.

About the Authors Dr. Arun Raj GR MD (Ayu), PGDMRCH, PGDCRPV, PhD scholar Dr. Arun Raj G. R. did his post-graduation in Kaumarabhritya from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences at Sree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan, Karnataka in 2014. He was identified as expert by Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India for developing a Technical Guidelines for integration of AYUSH in Poshan Abhiyaan in March 2021. He is life member of Indian Pharmacological Society, Indian Public Health Association, Society for Ethnopharmacology and Indian Academy of Cerebral Palsy. He is editor/associate editor of 7 International peer reviewed indexed journals and adjudicated about 90 research papers till date. He has carried out 5 sponsored major research projects from 2017 to till date. He has published about 93 papers in various national and international journals. To add, he has presented 48 papers in different National and International seminars. He has published one book in CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, United States as well as one book chapter each in Studium Press LLC. United States and CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, United State. He is also member of Institutional Research and publication committee as well as institutional Ethics Committee, Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research, Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat. Currently he is working as Associate Professor and Pediatric consultant, Department of Kaumarabbritya, Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research, Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat.

Dr. Kavya Mohan did her post-graduation in Kaumarabhritya from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences at Sree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan, Karnataka in 2019. She has published 7 papers in indexed-peer reviewed international journals. To add, she has presented 11 papers in different National and International seminars. She also had been the resource person for various seminars/conferences/webinars. She has adjudicated several research papers till date. She has contributed one book chapter in CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, United States. Currently she is working as Assistant Professor and Pediatric consultant, Department of Kaumarabbritya, Parul Institute of Ayurved, Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat,

Foreword It is my earnest wish to write foreword to the text book, "Research Methodology & Medical Statistics" authored by Dr. Anum Raj GR and Dr. Kavya Mohan. Both the authors have grown into highly competent academicians as well as practitioners with their never ending hard work and quest to explore the diversified fields of research in Ayurvedic literature. The first edition of this textbook is based exclusively on the NCISM syllabus for post graduate students of Ayurveda. In this book, the subject matter has been precisely explained keeping in mind the needs of Ayurveda students. Moreover the language used is simple and understandable to the post graduate scholars of Ayurveda. Hence I think that this book will definitely help the first year post graduate students to master the subject of "Research and Statistics and would help them in better preparation for exams.

Preface The Ayurveda system of health care is increasing in acceptance throughout the world. Like any other system of medical science, Ayurveda too have to stand the test of time. Research is one among the prime most tools that helps the system of Ayurveda to answer the challenging questions of today. The Textbook of Research Methodology and Medical Statistics syllabus advised by National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) will be of precise aid in equipping the budding post graduate scholars of Ayurveda to meet with all sort of scientific questions as well as challenges. The whole book is divided into two parts (A and B)- Research Methodology (Part A) and Medical Statistics (Part B). There are a total of 30 chapters covering the entire syllabus with 15 chapters in each part. We have made the most conscious effort to detail Ayurvedic part pertaining to each syllabus point, wherever necessary. Even though this book is primarily meant for the first year post graduate students of Ayurveda, other scholars in Ayurveda as well as other specialties can also make use of the text.
