About the Author
Sir William Wilson Hunter (1840-1900) was a member of the Indian Civil Service, a great statistician and compiler, an imperial historian, and a man of letters with a wide range of interests in race, religion, philology, diplomacy and journalism. he joined the Glasgow Academy. He studied various subjects, such as Chemistry, Logic and Mathematics in the University of Glasgow. Hunter was a prolific writer on a variety of subjects.
