Foreword
Vast indeed are the domains of legends and folklore. They range from the humdrum facts of the past to high altitudes of possibilities, and from the candid experiences of life to the dreams of fancy and visions of the sublime. The conscious and the subconscious mingle in them with an authority that defies question, reveries and asides assert their right of equality with the logical and the pragmatic.
We cannot think of our literature, be it ancient or medieval or modern or so called post-modern, be it classical or romantic, without the fortification of legends and folklore protecting them and guarding their growth.
