Book Description
About the Book
What if the answers to today's most urgent crises climate collapse, cultural erosion, ethical confusion-lay not ahead of us, but behind us, buried in the deep memory of a civilization that never lost its soul? Urdhva: The Lost Axis is not just a book-it is a reawakening. With lyrical storytelling and penetrating insight, it uncovers the spiritual spine of Indian civilization, long obscured by colonization, modernity, and cultural amnesia. This is a journey into the heart of Sanatana wisdom-where consciousness shapes culture, ethics guide progress, and harmony is not an ideal, but a lived reality. Drawing from India's vast philosophical heritage, this book reconnects the inner and outer worlds, offering a roadmap for individual renewal and civilizational resurgence. It challenges modern dogmas, exposes spiritual shallowness, and invites readers to realign with Dharma-the lost axis of a truly meaningful life. This is not a return to the past. It is a rise toward the eternal. Whether you are a seeker, a leader, a changemaker, or simply someone yearning for depth in a distracted world, Urdhva will stir your soul, sharpen your mind, and awaken your purpose.

Foreword
I am deeply touched by the spiritual earnestness and profound vision within your work. In a world often caught in the superficial, mistaking fleeting progress for true evolution, your book serves as a vital compass, guiding us back to the eternal wellspring of our being. You speak of our true roots not in the transient, but in infinite consciousness, in the very heart of the Divine. Bharat, our sacred land, has always carried this Bharatagni, this inextinguishable spiritual flame. It is not merely a geographical entity, but a living embodiment of tapas, of inner discipline, and a sanctum where truth is revealed through experiential wisdom and fearless dialogue. Your discerning reflection on the current surge of emotional nationalism and religious pride reminds us that without the substratum of Bharat as a Knowledge Tradition, such fervor risks becoming hollow. I urge readers to approach our scriptures under the guidance of traditional teachers (Srotriya Brahmanistha Guru), so that the true essence of Bharat and the foundations of its civilization may be rightly understood. Your vision is not just philosophical, but profoundly practical. It calls us to awaken the aesthetic sensitivity of Rasa, to embrace a holistic and integrative perspective, and to structure our societies around harmonious principles of oneness. This is not about nostalgia but about equipping humanity with timeless values for a resilient and compassionate future where ethical strength and civilizational stewardship guide our collective path.

Prologue
They came with cannons and their canon. They came with the promise of new worlds and old ploys. They burned our temples, our knowledge centres. Tried breaking our spirit. But Bharat's roots drank from the infinite-they could not be severed. This was a pool of wisdom that saw the convergence of thousands of streams of Indic knowledge. This was a reservoir of lived experiences and consciousness that needed no dam of damnation to exist. But today, the roots of that world, our world, are slowly dying. And we don't even see it. We live in the branches now-steel towers and digital clouds, satellites and algorithms. But the unseen roots that once nourished our civilizations-truth, wonder, transcendence-are withering. The ancients of Bharat saw this coming. What if I were to say that this tree of creation, which our ancient Bharatiya Maharishis meditated upon, has roots that stretch upward into the infinite and whose branches cascade downward into rivers, cities, languages, and lives? Quite a magical sight, you would say! In Dharmic traditions, this is a representation of the Universe that is based on an eternal form of the tree known as Ashwattha. This Urdhvamülavrksa ('tree with roots above') wasn't a poetic metaphor imagined by luminaries in the distant past. It was a reminder that all creation is sustained by an invisible current of consciousness. And that civilizations, like trees, flourish only when their roots drink deeply from that infinite source. Today, that current has thinned.
