From His Holiness Sri Vidyanarayana Theertha.
In the modern, fast-paced world, where life revolves around material pursuits, we often overlook the profound significance of the concept of "Zero." Zero is not just a number; it symbolizes potential, the essence of existence, and the infinite power within. Unfortunately, most people only realize its importance when faced with setbacks-when it is often too late to act.
Throughout my journey as a seeker and a sanyasi, I have encountered many enlightened souls. Two saints stand out as extraordinary influences in my life.
The first is Sri Sivananda Swamy of the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh, whom I met in the 1960s. He foresaw my future even when I was still contemplating my path. At that time, I told him of my ambition to serve as a doctor in the Royal Medical College. He smiled knowingly and predicted that I would eventually embrace the path of renunciation, becoming a sanyasi-a spiritual doctor serving humanity. His words proved prophetic.
The second saint is Dr. C. Nagaraj (Naga Yogi Raj), a fellow physician and a divinely inspired soul whom I encountered in the late 1990s. At that time, he was pursuing an MD degree, and I remarked, "Why strive for an MD in medicine when you are already advancing towards the Master of Divinity (MD)?" His spiritual journey was a profound reminder of the transformative power of inner realization.
Dr. Nagaraj comes from a family steeped in divinity, with his parents embodying extraordinary spiritual grace. Each member of his family is known for their divine inclinations, and they have always held a special place in my heart. Our connection transcends this lifetime, as our souls have shared journeys together in previous lives, bound by a deep spiritual affinity.
This book, Zero to Zero: The Mystic Circle, is the result of my Sankalpa (divine resolve) to document my life, teachings, and spiritual messages. I entrusted Dr. Hari Chinthakunta, a devoted disciple and an eloquent writer, to compile and develop this work with clarity and purpose.
ZERO to ZERO: The Mystic Circle
In this book, Zero to Zero: The Mystic Circle, I have endeavoured to present a spiritual journey that begins and ends with the same concept of "ZERO." The first, "ZERO", represents our state of ignorance and unawareness of our divine nature. This is where most of us begin-caught in the illusions of the material world, unaware of our true essence. The second "ZERO" symbolizes the realization of truth-the awakening to our divine self, which transcends the limitations of the physical world and connects us with the eternal.
The "Mystic Circle" reflects the cyclic nature of life and spiritual growth. It is a journey that moves inwards, where the outer distractions are left behind, and the seeker turns to their inner divinity. As we navigate this circle, we encounter various experiences that shape us, purify us, and ultimately bring us to a point of self-realization.
