Acharya Pratishtha is an internationally acclaimed Yog Gur, Kathak performer and motivational speaker.
Daughter of world acclaimed Yog Guru Swami (Dr.) Bharat Bhusshan Ji (Padma Shri)Acharya Pratishta has given more than 28 television shows on yoga and dance on leading TV channels, innumerable Yog workshops and Kathak performances worldwide, authored several books and approx 20 DVDs on her subject, choreographed more than 25 productions and has been acknowledged by Wikipedia and has millions of viewers at You Tube.
Founder Principal of Bharat College of Performing Arts and Director of Mokshayatan Yog Sansthan Acharya Pratishtha is honoured with many awards including "Queen of Kathak Yoga" by Pulian China. Her regular Yoga show "2minute mein Yoga" is telecast at ABP News day these days.
Yoga is a much heard and read about phenopmena these days. I have witnessed the journey of 'yog' becoming 'yoga' travelling to the term 'yoga and meditation' and in its present scenario, 'yoga, meditation and pranayam' being used just like using the phrase 'human body, hands and legs unknowingly as hands and legs are the parts of its human body. In the same way, pranayam and meditation are part of yog like yama, niyama, asana, bandha, shatkarma and pratyahara.
I started my yoga journey when I was in the womb of my mother. I was blessed to be born in a family where I learns things from the environment. But 'JUST' learning yogic kriyas never elevates a soul until and unless its wisdom is not realised and it is not adapted as a lifestyle.
Yoga has helped me in every sphere of my life be it my studies, profession, personal life, social or spiritual life. It took out the best in me as a student, classical dancer, daughter, wife, mother, guru, performer, author and orator. It is only because of yoga that I could balance all the spheres of my life almost perfectly. But the realisation happened when I was dancing in front of the mirror and I could relate to both; I danced mirror danced, I smiled mirror smiled, I cried mirror cried, I laughed! Life is like a mirror; we get what we give and unfortunately most of the people unknowingly give and transmit negativity. That very day I decided I want happiness in my life and the only way to achieve it is to give it! Yes, I started spreading not just happiness but also health and bliss through yog and that's the same what I started receiving. The only way to spread happiness is to spread yog.
I firmly believe that all personal (physical, mental, social, intellectual, financial, spiritual) and other problems can be solved only through yog and it is the only medium to make this world a better place.
