J Krishnamurti, recognized the world over as one of the greatest religious teachers of all times, was born in south India in 1895. As a young man, he underwent certain mystical experiences which, as he said, made him touch the ‘compassion that heals all sorrow and suffering’. Then, for more than sixty years, till his passing away in 1986, he travelled all over the world talking to people about the need to change themselves radically by understanding the psychological factors that shape human lives. In doing so, he gave a new direction and meaning to man’s search for Truth or God.
This is the first of a two-volume series, each containing four half-hour programmes, compiled from some of the earliest sound-films made of Krishnamurti, in 1966. Filmed when he was talking to large audiences and students, in Ojai, California, and also while being interviewed by the film-makers, this series effectively represents Krishnamurti’s teachings.
Volume 1 (Four half-hour programmes) 1. Where are we going? 2. Observing ourselves 3. Freedom from fear 4. Meditation
