Vishnu Purana introduces Lakshmi as 'Sri, the bride of Vishnu, the mother of the world, who is eternal, imperishable. As he is all pervading, so she is omnipresent.'

Lakshmi is depicted seated on a lotus, her skin also the colour of a lotus in bloom. Hence, she is often called Padma. Here she is shown in her Gajalakshmi image with elephants on either side showering her with water. She looks resplendent in a jewel encrusted crown and gold ornaments. Seated in padmasana, she holds lotuses in her back hands. The front two hands are showering gold coins, reinforcing her status as the goddess of wealth and fortune.

Lakshmi is worshipped throughout the year in a variety of festivals but the most important occasion associated with her is Deepavali when she is invoked to bring wealth and prosperity. Her status as a bountiful goddess is also apparent in her demeanor and ornamentation.

The background is illuminated by her radiance. The richly caparisoned elephants, having long, pointed tusks balance urns in their trunks to lustrate the goddess.

The painting with its strictly representational elements invokes our religious sentiment and aesthetic delight at the same time.

Namaste, This painting was delivered a little while ago. The entire package was soaking wet inside and out. But because of the extra special care you took to protect it, the painting itself is not damaged. It is beautiful, and I am very happy to have it. But all is well now, and I am relieved. Thank you!

I am writing to convey my gratitude in the service that you have provided me. We received the painting of the 10 gurus by Anup Gomay on the 2nd January 2019 and the painting was packaged very well. I am happy to say that the recipient of the gift was very very happy! The painting is truly stunning and spectacular in real life! Thank you once again for all your help that you provided.

I just received my powder pink wool shawl. It is beautiful. I bought it to wear over my dress at my son's wedding this coming Spring & it will be perfect if it's chilly in the garden. The package came very promptly & I couldn't be more pleased.
