The miniature depicts a shop selling kites and associated accessories. It displays kites of all shapes and sizes, some glued to the wall, hanging down the ceiling or lying scattered from which the two men have selected the wares. Huge reels of the sturdy thread used to fly the kites is also stacked. It all sums up the decoration of the shop.
The four men, two shopkeepers and two customers are almost similarly dressed in long jamas, tight pyjamas and shoulder cloths and patkas; the turbans are tied in similar styles, decorated with a string of pearls. They all sport moustaches, their faces shown in profile. Long strings of pearls hang down their necks - their clothes and jewellery shows their rich status and class.
Through numerous kites and the attire of men, the artist received an opportunity to use numerous shades and colours.
