Recounting the tale on fabric in Kalamkari technique is the scene that changed the course of history. The design is printed with beautiful hand carved blocks and the outline and the main features and details are painted with hand. Coming back to the theme, it depicts a dialogue between the divine Krishna and Arjuna, during the war between the cousins on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Krishna had become Arjuna's charioteer, for he refused to take up arms in the family feud. Arjun, seeing his kinsmen ranged against him, was overcome by despair and said, O Krishna, I do not desire to slay these enemies, even for the sake of the lordship of, the three worlds, let alone the earth." Krishna sermonizes, the sermon recorded in the form of a poem, which forms a part of Mahabharat. The sermon is commonly known as 'Geeta-Saar': the quintessence of the whole poem can be given in these few words: One should pursue a merciless fight against weakness and for the fulfillment of one's duty, not for any rewards or results, but for the sake of duty itself, without attachment to the fruit of action.
This situation is the setting for the profound philosophical teaching which is the core of Hinduism and has exerted powerful influence in India since ancient times.
