The sacred syllable "Om" finds its earliest mention in the profound Upanishads, those mystical texts intricately connected to Vedanta philosophy. Throughout its history, "Om" has been associated with diverse notions, such as the "cosmic sound," a "mystical syllable," or an "affirmation of the divine." It stands as a symbol representing abstract spiritual concepts within the Upanishads.

The iconic "AUM" symbol, often written as "OM" embodies the Universe and the ultimate reality, making it one of the most significant symbols in Hinduism. This symbol tells a story of creation's genesis, as it emerged from emptiness, represented by a syllable composed of three letters - A, U, and M, signifying the sacred and eternal Om.

The Radiant Symbol of Creation and Consciousness

Invite the powerful, auspicious energy of the Om symbol and the life-giving warmth of the sun into your sacred space with this exquisite brass wall hanging. Handcrafted with meticulous detail in India, this piece is more than just a decorative item; it's a conduit for profound spiritual significance. The fusion of the universally recognized Om (AUM) with the radiant sun embodies the very essence of existence, representing the cosmic sound from which all creation originates and the divine light that sustains it. The Om symbol, a sacred sound and icon in Dharmic religions, is believed to be the primordial vibration of the universe. It encapsulates the three states of consciousness – waking, dreaming, and deep sleep – and transcends them to the fourth, pure consciousness (Turiya). Chanting or meditating on Om is said to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit, connecting the individual soul (Atman) with the universal soul (Brahman). In this artwork, the Om symbol is rendered in gleaming brass, standing out against the deeper, richer tones of the sun's rays, suggesting its paramount importance and foundational nature.

The Divine Radiance of Surya

The sun, personified as Surya in Hinduism, is a revered deity and a vital source of life, energy, and power. Surya is depicted as the god of the heavens, the dawn, and the sun itself, whose seven horses draw his chariot across the sky each day, bringing light and dispelling darkness. The sun's constant cycles of rising and setting symbolize renewal, rebirth, and the eternal flow of time. Its unwavering light represents knowledge, wisdom, and clarity, cutting through illusion and ignorance. This wall hanging captures the dynamic spirit of Surya, with its intricately carved rays that seem to emanate outwards, filling any room with a sense of vibrant energy and positive aura. The detailed craftsmanship ensures that each ray is distinct, conveying a sense of movement and divine power.

A Testament to Artisanal Excellence

Crafted from high-quality brass, this wall hanging is a beautiful testament to the enduring tradition of Indian metal artistry. Each piece is handmade, imbuing it with a unique character and soul that mass-produced items simply cannot replicate. The skilled artisans painstakingly shape and finish the brass, ensuring a smooth yet textured surface that catches the light beautifully. The natural patina of the brass, along with the contrasting finishes, adds depth and a timeless elegance to the artwork. This piece is designed to be a lasting addition to your home, a constant reminder of spiritual truths and artistic heritage. Its substantial presence, with a diameter of 12 inches, makes it a captivating focal point for any wall, whether in a meditation room, living area, or entryway. Embrace the spiritual and aesthetic beauty of this magnificent brass Om Surya wall hanging and let its radiant energy transform your environment.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
