The Compassionate Savior: Green Tara

Behold the serene presence of Green Tara, embodied in this exquisite copper statue, originating from the skilled artisans of Nepal. This depiction captures the essence of Tara, a beloved Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism, revered as the "Mother of Liberation." She is the embodiment of active compassion, always ready to swiftly answer the cries of those who seek her aid. As a protector from dangers and a guide on the path to enlightenment, Green Tara holds a special place in the hearts of practitioners. Her emerald hue signifies her vibrant energy and youthful spirit. Unlike other Buddhas who might sit in full lotus posture, Tara is often depicted in a more relaxed pose, ready to leap to action at a moment's notice. This pose, with one leg extended, reflects her readiness to come to the aid of those in need, a testament to her compassionate nature. Her left hand is in the refuge-granting gesture. In her right hand, she holds a lotus flower, symbol of purity, spiritual awakening and compassion.

A Legacy of Nepalese Craftsmanship

This statue is a testament to the rich artistic heritage of Nepal. Crafted from copper by skilled Nepalese artisans, this piece reflects a deep understanding of Buddhist iconography and traditional metalworking techniques passed down through generations. The intricate detailing, from the elaborate crown adorned with precious stones to the delicate carvings on her garments, speaks to the dedication and artistry involved in its creation. Every curve and contour is carefully sculpted to convey Tara's grace, serenity, and power. The use of copper, a material revered for its durability and spiritual significance, adds to the statue's value and longevity. This is more than just a decorative object; it's a sacred representation, meticulously crafted to inspire devotion and contemplation. The statue measures 13.0 x 9.0 x 8.0 inches, a size suitable for both personal altars and prominent display.

Tara's Mythic Origins

Tara's origins are rooted in profound stories of compassion. One popular legend tells of her as a princess who, after witnessing the suffering of countless beings, vowed to continue incarnating as a female bodhisattva until all beings were liberated from suffering. Another tale depicts her emerging from a lotus flower born from the tears of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, symbolizing her spontaneous and boundless empathy. She is revered for her ability to overcome obstacles, offer protection from fear and negativity, and grant wishes for healing, prosperity, and spiritual growth. By inviting this Green Tara statue into your home, you are not only acquiring a beautiful work of art but also connecting with a powerful lineage of wisdom and compassion. Allow her tranquil presence to inspire inner peace, strength, and a deep sense of connection to all living beings.
