Enraged, Hiranyakashipu struck the pillar, and from it emerged Lord Narasimha, with the body of a man and the head of a lion. He tore Hiranyakashipu apart on the threshold of his home, at dusk, neither inside nor outside, on a lap, nor on the ground, thus fulfilling his promise to protect Prahlada and establish cosmic balance.
