In the divine bronze icon, the powerful mother goddess Varahi is presented in her four-armed form. Devi Varahi is attired in a saree, a crown, ornaments, and a U-shaped Tilak which is worn by Vishnu and his followers, thus associating the goddess with Vishnu’s form as Varaha.

The queenly mother goddess is placed on a regal throne, seated on an inverted lotus, while her dangling leg is kept on a small lotus blooming from the throne. The plow and mortar are Varahi’s weapons in wars against demons, vanishing whom the goddess gives boons of fearlessness and benevolence with her hands raised in protective gestures.

Embodiment of Divine Power: Varahi Devi

This exquisite bronze statue depicts Varahi Devi, a powerful and fearsome aspect of the divine mother, Goddess Parvati. In Hindu mythology, Varahi is one of the Matrikas, a group of seven or nine mother goddesses who are personifications of divine feminine energy. She is often depicted with a boar's head, symbolizing strength, ferocity, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Varahi is particularly revered as a destroyer of evil forces and a protector of her devotees. She is known for her fierce nature, which she employs to vanquish demons and uphold dharma (righteousness). Stories tell of her role in protecting the universe from malevolent beings, embodying the protective and nurturing, yet formidable, aspects of the divine feminine.

Artistry of Panchaloha Bronze

Crafted using the ancient Madhuchista Vidhana (lost-wax) casting technique, this statue is a testament to the rich artistic heritage of Swamimalai, a renowned center for bronze casting in South India. The Panchaloha, a sacred alloy of five metals – gold, silver, copper, tin, and iron – is traditionally used for creating divine images. This precise alloy is believed to imbue the statues with auspicious qualities and spiritual potency. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in every curve and contour of the sculpture, from the intricate ornamentation of the throne and the radiant archway to the powerful depiction of Varahi herself. The lost-wax method ensures that each piece is a unique work of art, passed down through generations of skilled artisans.

A Protector and Bestower of Boons

Varahi Devi is not only a formidable warrior but also a benevolent mother figure. She is believed to grant protection from negative energies, dispel fears, and bestow courage and wisdom upon her followers. Her devotees pray to her for overcoming challenges, achieving success in endeavors, and for the well-being of their families. The boar's tusk, often depicted prominently, symbolizes her power to uproot negativity and corruption. The serene yet resolute expression on her face conveys her unwavering commitment to justice and her compassionate nature towards those who seek her divine grace. This statue serves as a potent reminder of the immense power and protective embrace of the divine feminine.

A Timeless Treasure for Your Sacred Space

This 7-inch bronze statue of Varahi Devi is more than just a beautiful artifact; it is a conduit of spiritual energy and a symbol of divine strength. Whether placed in a home altar, meditation room, or as a statement piece in your living space, it will undoubtedly evoke a sense of reverence and tranquility. The warm, lustrous finish of the Panchaloha bronze, combined with the intricate craftsmanship, makes this statue a truly captivating piece. It represents a fusion of artistic mastery and profound spiritual significance, offering a tangible connection to ancient traditions and the eternal power of the divine mother.
