In this cosmic tapestry of divinity, a celestial tableau unfolds with enchanting grace as Lord Narasimha, “the slayer of Hiranyakashipu”, cradles his beloved consort, Lakshmi, “the Vibha (the Radiant One)”, upon his lap, a manifestation resplendent with tranquillity. Contrary to his fierce countenance in the “Ugra Rupa”, here, the lion-maned deity emanates serenity, his divine visage an epitome of celestial calm. Clad in regal attire, adorned with the “Sudarshana Chakra” and “Panchajanya”, Narasimha symbolises cosmic order and protection.

Garuda, “the eagle mount of Lord Vishnu”, and Hanuman, the devoted disciple,  stand in humble reverence. Lord Narasimha embraces his consort, portraying the harmonious union of power and grace, fury and calm, as well as the inseparable bond of devotion. Amidst the cosmic ballet, this majestic depiction, carved in copper, beckons seekers to witness the divine balance, where the terrible transforms into tranquillity, and cosmic forces unite in sublime harmony, echoing the eternal dance of the cosmos.

A Divine Depiction

Crafted from copper, this statue presents a powerful depiction of Lord Narasimha, a significant avatar of Vishnu, seated with Lakshmi, his consort, upon the coils of Sheshnag. This is not merely a statue; it's a narrative frozen in metal, a snapshot of a moment reverberating with divine grace and formidable protection. The statue measures approximately 7.5 x 4.5 x 3.3 inches, making it perfect for placement on an altar, a desk, or any space where you seek to infuse your surroundings with spiritual energy.

Narasimha: The Protector

Narasimha is renowned for his unique form – a combination of man and lion – and for his fierce protection of devotees. The story of Narasimha's emergence to protect his devotee Prahlada is a cornerstone of Vaishnava tradition. Prahlada, despite facing persecution from his demon king father, Hiranyakashipu, remained unwavering in his devotion to Vishnu. Hiranyakashipu, possessing a boon that rendered him virtually invincible, challenged Vishnu's omnipresence. When Prahlada asserted that Vishnu was everywhere, Hiranyakashipu shattered a pillar, and from it emerged Narasimha, who was neither fully man nor beast, appeared neither inside nor outside, and killed Hiranyakashipu at twilight, which was neither day nor night. The deity represents that divine intervention can happen when one has ultimate faith.

Sheshnag: The Eternal Serpent

Sheshnag, the divine serpent with countless heads, serves as the bed for Vishnu in the cosmic ocean. He represents time, eternity, and the foundation of the universe. His presence beneath Narasimha and Lakshmi signifies cosmic order, stability, and the protection that stems from the very source of creation.

Garuda and Hanuman: Loyal Devotees

On either side of the pedestal, you will notice the figures of Garuda and Hanuman, two of Vishnu's most revered devotees. Garuda, the eagle-like vehicle of Vishnu, symbolizes courage, strength, and swiftness. Hanuman, the monkey god, embodies devotion, loyalty, and selfless service. Their presence emphasizes the unwavering support and unwavering commitment to the divine.

Material and Aesthetic

The copper construction lends the statue a rich, warm tone and an antique finish, evoking a sense of timelessness and traditional artistry. Copper is a material often associated with purity and spirituality in Hinduism, making it a fitting medium for such a sacred representation. Its enduring nature ensures that this statue will become a cherished heirloom, passed down through generations.
