White Tara, an enlightened Buddha, vowed as a young bodhisattva to perpetually manifest in the form of a female bodhisattva and goddess in the future, dedicated to benefiting all beings and offering protection from the eight fears.

Her right hand gracefully assumes the mudra of supreme generosity, with the third finger touching the thumb, symbolizing the union of wisdom and compassion, while the three extended fingers represent the Three Jewels of Buddhism: the Buddha State, the Body of Teachings (Sangha), and the Principles of the Universal Form (Dharma). This hand also cradles the stem of a lotus, symbolizing transformation, with the lower part of the stem representing the lotus's root in the mud. The Lotus signifies growth emerging from obscurity into the radiant light. Draped in exquisite silk garments, adorned with various jewel ornaments, White Tara sits in a vajra posture, with the palms of her hands embellished with the eyes of awareness.
