According to legend, she was a wealthy merchant's daughter who, through her intense devotion, achieved a state of spiritual union with Shiva. It is said that she renounced worldly possessions and even her human form, transforming into a ghoulish yet eternally devoted entity, dancing and singing praises to Shiva in his celestial abode. Her hymns, filled with profound love and longing for the divine, are still sung today.
