The figure in the central panel is of a dancing girl. From her dress it could be made out that she is an entertainer from the court of the Mughals. A gorgeous green bodice descends into a transparent pink Anarkali suit, which is teamed with fitted green trousers and a pink dupatta. She is bedecked with pearls, and holds in her hand a lotus as she twirls through her dance routine. Her beauty is unputdownable, more revealed rather than concealed by the ensemble. These panel drawings are what makes this cupboard more than a utilitarian buy - it is a work of art in its own right, having been finished with a great degree of imagination and skill.
