Of all the Chinese deities the God of Longevity is one of the most popular. His name is Sau, and he is one of the three-star gods of Fuk Luk Sau so popular with the Chinese. Sau is also often displayed on his own, and not necessarily in the east corner of the room, although this would be a good idea. Sau can also be placed facing the main door, to attract healthy long life into the home. These symbolic deities are rarely worshiped. Their presence in a home is to create the symbolic energies associated with them.

The God of Longevity is depicted as a smiling old man with a broad forehead. He carries a staff, and some peaches (fruit of longevity).
