The Legend of Agrasen

This exquisite brass sculpture portrays a figure revered as the progenitor of the Agrawal community. Agrasen, a Suryavanshi Kshatriya king, embodies the principles of compassion, philanthropy, and prosperity. Born in the Dwapar Yuga, he descended from Lord Rama through his sons Lava and Kusha. Agrasen's life is interwoven with tales of wisdom, sacrifice, and the establishment of a righteous society. According to legend, Agrasen embarked on a journey across India to choose a suitable location for his kingdom. He sought a land where his people could flourish and uphold their values. During his travels, he encountered Nagraj Kumud, the serpent king, who presented his daughter Madhavi to Agrasen in marriage. This union symbolizes the integration of diverse cultures and the foundation of a strong, united community. The most prominent aspect of Agrasen’s legacy is the establishment of the principle of "one brick, one rupee." Recognizing the importance of mutual support, he encouraged each new resident of his kingdom to donate one brick and one rupee to help newcomers build their homes and businesses. This concept fostered a spirit of self-reliance and collective growth, ensuring that no one was left behind. His reign was characterized by peace, harmony, and the well-being of his subjects.

The Sculpture's Form

This sculpture meticulously captures the essence of Agrasen's royal stature and benevolent nature. Seated regally on his throne, he holds a sword, a symbol of his Kshatriya lineage and his commitment to upholding dharma (righteousness). The intricate details of his attire, including the elaborate jewelry and the ornate headgear, reflect his royal status. Above him, a parasol signifies his authority and protection over his people. Flanking the throne are two lions, emblems of power, courage, and justice. These majestic creatures serve as guardians, emphasizing Agrasen's role as a protector and a just ruler. The throne itself is intricately designed, adding to the overall grandeur and spiritual significance of the sculpture.

A Timeless Piece

Crafted from solid brass, this sculpture possesses a timeless quality that transcends generations. Its dimensions make it a perfect addition to your home altar, office, or any space where you seek inspiration and guidance. It serves as a constant reminder of the values of compassion, community, and prosperity that Agrasen championed throughout his life. The aged brass finish imbues it with an antique aesthetic, making it a treasured heirloom to be passed down through your family. It is an artifact that encapsulates the spirit of Maharaja Agrasen, offering a tangible connection to his enduring legacy.
