A Vision of Compassion

Behold the serene visage of a deity revered across cultures for her boundless compassion and healing power. This brass sculpture captures the essence of divine grace, a symbol of tranquility and enlightenment. Every detail, from the gentle curve of her lips to the intricate adornments, is a testament to the artistry and devotion that went into its creation. The play of light across the metal surface enhances the sense of peace and serenity radiating from the figure, inviting contemplation and reflection.

The Story of Tara

In Tibetan Buddhism, Tara is known as the "Mother of Liberation," embodying the feminine wisdom and active compassion of all Buddhas. Legend tells that she was born from a tear of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, who wept at the suffering of the world. From that single tear sprang forth a lotus, and from the lotus emerged Tara, vowing to help all sentient beings achieve liberation. It is believed that she swiftly answers the prayers of those who seek her aid, offering protection from fear and obstacles. This exquisite representation is more than just a decorative object; it is a tangible link to a rich spiritual tradition, a reminder of the power of compassion and the potential for inner peace.

The Seven Eyes of Wisdom

Note the seven eyes adorning her form – beyond the usual two, there is an eye in the center of her forehead, and one on each palm and sole. These symbolize her all-seeing wisdom, her ability to perceive the suffering of beings in all realms, and her readiness to act with swift and effective compassion. In this sculpture, her right hand is extended in the gesture of granting wishes and dispelling fear, offering solace to those in need. The left hand holds a lotus flower, a symbol of purity, spiritual awakening, and the potential for enlightenment within each of us. This depiction serves as a constant reminder that even amidst the chaos and challenges of life, there is always the possibility of transformation and inner peace.

Craftsmanship and Artistic Detail

Crafted from brass, this stunning piece showcases the enduring beauty of traditional sculpture. The combination of burnished and gilded surfaces brings depth and definition to every element, from the folds of her robes to the elaborate crown that adorns her head. Flowers and decorative swirls frame her form, lending an ethereal grace and lightness to her majestic presence. The craftsmanship ensures not only visual appeal but also a tactile experience, inviting you to run your fingers over the cool metal and appreciate the skill and dedication of the artist.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
