What is so striking about this shawl is the sheer brightness and sheen of the turquoise colour of the base of this shawl. Surrounded by so much of nature's bounty, the craftsman does not have to look elsewhere for his designs. The entire shawl is splattered with flowers of different varieties and exhibits an inexhaustible display of brilliant colours, matching or contrasting but never clashing. The craftsman has chosen to use lilac and mauve, yellow and mustard, peach and orange, pink and red in groups and this causes the shaded effect in embroidery. There is no so called symmetry of pattern, but there is unmistakable harmony. The design, the colours, just reach out to you and make themselves endearing.
The base used in the shawl is a blended fabric which is more comfortable in slightly warmer climates where a shawl is required but not just for warmth but also for its aesthetic beauty of colour and design.
