David Haberman


American academic and researcher David L. Haberman is well renowned for his knowledge of South Asian faiths, notably Hinduism. Since 1983, he has served as a professor at Indiana University Bloomington. He earned his doctorate in religious studies from the University of Chicago.


Haberman has written extensively on a variety of Hindu topics, including ecology in Hinduism, Hindu pilgrimage, and the worship of the goddess in India. A number of his publications have been published, including "Journey through the Twelve Forests: An Encounter with Krishna," "People Trees: Worship of Trees in Northern India," and "River of Love in an Age of Pollution: The Yamuna River of Northern India."
