He was an eminent Indian philosopher, scholar, thinker and also renowned educationist known for his vast contributions to philosophy, literature, science, education and so on. His range of intellectual interest spread almost to the entire field of knowledge. He had vast intellectual interest in every branch of knowledge. His contributions in the field of education is undeniable. In social reforms of Bengal, the role of Acharya Brajendranath Seal is unforgettable. He was involved in various social issues that shaped the reformist agenda of the Bengal Renaissance. His educational thought is very relevant even today. As an educationist, Seal was pivotal in shaping the academic landscape of his era. As a pioneering educator, Seal served prestigious posts in several Universities and Colleges where he promoted modern educational practices and curricular reforms. He was a seeker of truth and believer of universal humanism. His philosophy emphasized harmony between science and spirituality, advocating for a synthesis of Eastern and Western knowledge system. His interaction with these contemporaries helped to create a rich exchange of ideas. Through lectures, writings and interviews Seal significantly influenced the intellectual world of his time. His work contributed to the formation of a modern Indian consciousness. He played a vital role in fostering an intellectual environment that was open to new ideas which made him an essential figure in the Bengal Renaissance. Nineteenth century is a bright chapter in the history of Bengal. During the Renaissance of Bengal in this century, significant changes took place in all aspects of life and new ideologies were born. The impact of British rule, bourgeois economy and modern western culture was first felt in Bengal. This influence led to a Renaissance in Bengal known as the Bengal Renaissance or Awakening. Bengal was far ahead of the rest of India in awareness regarding the changing modern world for almost a hundred years, so Bengal's role in India's Renaissance can be compared to that of the Italy in European Renaissance. In the late middle ages a particularly vigorous effort was seen in Italy, Germany, France, England etc.

Now she is engaged as a College Teacher in the Department of History, Nakshalbari College, Naxalbari, Darjeeling, West Bengal. Dr. Mukherjee has published a good number of scholarly articles in international and national peer-reviewed journals and edited books. She has been participated or presented research papers in State level, National level, International level seminars and webinars. Her area of interest includes regional history, tribal, social and cultural history of modern India.
