"Swami! This is only the preface! Bhagawan! Shower upon me Your grace, At Your Divine Feet, grant me a place, That will be my only solace!"
I bow and offer my humble pranams at the lotus feet of the divine Guru, Bhagawan Sri Sri Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Manasa Bhajare Gurucharanam, Dustara Bhavasaagara Taranam.
Bhagawan, the divine protector of the entire universe, helps His devotees to cross the ocean of 'LIFE' by showing them the right 'PATH.' He is the 'GURU' and the world is the 'GURUKUL.'
On Bhagawan's journey to Badrikshetra with a group of devotees, Swami's narration throughout the journey contained gems of wisdom and knowledge which were imbibed by Smt. Vijaya Kumari garu, who was part of Swami's entourage. She, in all kindness, transferred all her feelings in to written form in order to enable the readers of this wonderful book, Badri Yatra - Journey with the Divine to the Divinity, also to experience the same state of bliss she enjoyed. It is a great fortune that I was given the opportunity to translate her original work in Telugu into English.
I was enthralled when Bhagawan gave me a chance to 'SERVE' Him in this way, through her, to undertake the task of translating the innermost sacred feelings and the most beautiful descriptions, penned down by her. Though I was not sure of my capabilities, my unflinching faith in Swami's divine will made me venture into this stupendous job. It was only due to the divine grace of Swami that I could translate all her experiences, in a state of ecstasy and bliss.
As the subtitle of the book itself suggests (In Telugu) "Pratykshamtho Parokshaniki With The Perceptible To The Imperceptible," it was a spiritual journey for me all through, being along with my Lord and nothing but His divine leela!
It was Smt. Saraswathi garu, who is presently serving Swami with her literary works, who first induced me to take up this task. I am indebted to her for giving me this golden opportunity to serve my Lord. The immense encouragement and constant support I received from my parents, Sri. Ramakrishna Rao garu and. Smt Subbalakshmi garu, is immeasurable. I will not be doing justice if I do not mention the principle force, my beloved brother Srinivas who was with me all through, with his profound knowledge of mythology and literary imagination. I thank my colleague Dr. Vandhini who helped me with computer work. And finally, not to forget the divine strength I derived for this work from the intuitive and inspiring words of Sai Sister, Mrs. Anupama, which I regard as the divine direction of Swami Himself.
How can I express my acknowledgements to the Omniscient and the Omnipotent Lord, Sri Sri Sri Sathya Sai Bhagawan, whose presence I could feel all through as I was working. The mixed feelings of fulfillment and emptiness engulfed me, as I concluded the translation work. I bow to You, my Lord, with thousands of salutations at Your lotus feet. What more can I desire, other than praying for Your grace to be in Your divine service.
