JONATHAN GOLDMAN, M.A., is an award-winning musician, composer, writer, teacher, and chant master. ANDI GOLDMAN, M.A., L.P.C., is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in holistic counseling and sound therapy, the director of the Healing Sounds Seminars, and codirector of the Sound Healers Association. The authors live in Boulder, Colorado.

About the Authors Jonathan Goldman, M.A., is an internationally renowned writer, musician, and teacher. He is an authority on sound healing and a pioneer in the field of harmonics. Jonathan is the author of Healing Sounds, Shifting Frequencies, The 7 Secrets of Sound Healing, and The Divine Name. He has studied with masters of sound from both the scientific and spiritual traditions, incorporating this knowledge and energy into his teachings and healing music. Andi Goldman, M.A., L.P.C., is a licensed psychotherapist, specializing in holistic counseling and sound therapy. She holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Boulder Graduate School and is codirector of the Sound Healers Association and director of the Healing Sounds Seminars. Andi is the developer of Tele-Counsel, the nation's first telephone counseling service to specifically offer homebound clients structured counseling. She has been an educator at international schools in Japan, Germany, and Indonesia and has lived and traveled extensively throughout the world. Andi is a musician, author, teacher, sound healer, and the wife and partner of Jonathan Goldman.

Together Jonathan and Andi have dedicated their life to the path of service, helping awaken and empower others with the ability of sound to heal and transform.

Since the first publication of our book, the world of sound healing has truly flourished. We are grateful for this-it is an acknowledgment of not only the ability of sound to heal, but also the extraordinary capacity of sound to transform and create positive, lasting change. Since its first publication, we have pondered innumerable changes to the title of our book because the popular meaning of tantra in our Western culture is often associated with sexual energy, which has caused confusion in potential readers' minds about the book's subject matter. The word tantra truly has centuries-old origins that resonate with the principles of vibration and sound. In fact, the etymology of tantra comes from the words tattva (the science of cosmic principles) and mantra (the science of vibration). It was this ancient and authentic meaning of the word that we had in mind when we chose our original title and it was our aim to bring awareness of this cosmic vibration to our readers.

If you understand our premise-that this interconnecting link joining all of reality is both based upon sound and created by sound-then you will truly appreciate the information, techniques, and materials in the book. We have titled the new edition Chakra Frequencies because the seven chakras, located vertically along the center of our bodies, are vortices of vibration. When we focus our sound work on the chakras, we are able to change our vibration frequencies and allow resonance with greater aspects of the unified field of consciousness.
