Child labour occurs when children are forced to take up work at a young age when they need to study and enjoy the face of innocence It leads to loss of childhood and escalates the exploitation of children in various forms. Despite the laws against child labour, many children remain exploited as cheap labourers. Children are forced to work illegally in multiple sectors in India.

About the Author

Dr. Nidhi Mathur Ph.D, holds graduate and post-graduate degrees in Home Science with specialization in Child Development and Family Relations. Her doctorate study was in Psychology.

Presently, Dr. Mathur is Associate Professor - Home Science in Department of College Education, Rajasthan. She has teaching experience of about 25 years. Her areas of interest include teaching, research, and writing in the areas of Positive Psychology. She has authored another book The Power of Forgiveness and many peer-reviewed academic journal articles.

Dr. Mathur is also the recipient of Bhamashah Award. She was an ICAR fellow and gold medalist at both graduate and post graduate level.
