Delhi: A City of Museums
Delhi: A City of Museums
Description
From the Jacket:

Delhi: A City of Museums is a beautifully designed guide and reference book for tourists and art, history and culture enthusiasts. Delhi showcases the country's absorbing geographical, political, social and art history in the range of fascinating museums found within its limits. The author has compiled in this volume a bird's eye view of ten important museums in the city. Each chapter is walk through the history of the exhibitions of each museum, and is lavishly illustrated with striking photographs. In departing from conventional formats of guide books and catalogues – with few exceptions, the only forms of information available currently on museums in Delhi – the author has accomplished the demanding task of presenting an admirably readable account of tem prominent museums in Delhi. The museums selected have been established in the last fifty years, post India's independence, but some have antecedents in pre-independence India. The narration reflects the painstaking research and infectious enthusiasm of the author, as well as an abiding interest, closing the gap between the wealth of information that museums provide and our own lives.

The book opens with a foreword by notes arts and cultural theorist, Kapila Vatsyayan.

I am a long-time customer of Exotic India for gifts for me and friends and family. We are never disappointed. Your jewelry craftspeople are very skilled artists. You must treasure them. And we always look forward to the beautifully decorated boxes you use to ship your jewelry.

I have always enjoyed browsing through the website. I was recently in south India, and was amazed to note that the bronze statues made in Kumbakonam and Thanjavur had similar pricing as Exotic India.
Heramba, USA
Thank you very much for your services. I ordered a Dhanvantari Deity from this site and it came quickly and in good condition. Now Sri Dhanvantari ji is worshipped regularly before seeing each client and in the offering of our medicinal products. Thanks again.

Thanks for sharpening our skills with wisdom and sense of humor. The torchbearers of the ancient deity religion are spread around the world and the books of wisdom from India bridges the gap between east and west.
