About the Book
Group Captain Vishy Mehta is a chosen devotee drawn by Bhagawan Baba and his experiences with Baba along with his wife and children are absorbing reading. He being a Pilot in Air Force aptly titled this book as "I Will Pilot Your Life." In fact, in all our lives Bhagawan is the one and only Pilot for making us realize our Divinity. Group Captain Vishy Mehta has included some interviews with Bhagawan and His miracles. The other topics covered are: "Knowing Self," "Self-realization" and "Live in Enlightenment." This book of experiences with Baba is spiritually uplifting, giving at the same time a very interesting reading.
Foreword
It is due to Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Divine Will alone that all of us have come together to commune in the divine leela of Swami's plan to pilot the life of Group Captain Vishy Mehta and his family. Never the one to speak about his experiences with Swami, all of us have only observed Group Captain's 5 foot 10 inch towering personality, always humbled into nodding his head towards a distant place upward, as if always indicating, "This is HIS glory alone". His simple presence, gentle, calm and all-knowing smile tells everyone around, who the real DOER is! For us as children of God and as God we truly are, comes great responsibility. The journey from the small 'i' to the BIG 'I' is easy. The moment, you stop identifying with 'i' the doer and start identifying with 'l' the 'I AM', the journey from the self to the self, completes. The small 'i' is all confusion and mind, the BIG 'I' is all peace, truth and Love. The small 'i' never stops creating problems, the BIG 'I' only observes, enjoys, and stays merged in its true state. Group Captain Mehta's lucid experiences, explain this so easily and simply, hitting home the innate understanding, that we are all verily God ourselves.
Preface
In Yoga Vasishtha - an expression, 'KAKATALIYA', meaning "A crow alights on the coconut palm tree and at that very moment a ripe coconut falls", recurs many times. The two unrelated events thus seem to be related in time and space, though there is no casual relationship. The human mind, caught up only in logic, invents a 'WHY' and a 'WHEREFORE' to satisfy itself. It conveniently ignores the inconvenient questions that still haunt the intelligent mind. The problem is that, anything which does not fit there, just doesn't get accepted by man. God's creation is different and many things do not fit in to this logic. Take for example, Swami's materializations. They cannot be clubbed in to the definition of logic. Therefore, these are called 'Miracles'. Sai Baba says that every object has five aspects. Sat-Chit-Anand are inside and Name-Form are outside. This means that everything from inside is God or Brahman or Self or Consciousness, and everything from outside has a name and form. In most of his discourses, Swami says and keeps repeating "You are God, and so is EVERYTHING else in this universe." However, as it does not fit into man's logic, therefore he insists on accepting the 'Self' as ANYTHING else but God. Swami says that the man is essentially divine but has entangled himself in the characteristics of the five elements and has forgotten that he is supposed to be God. Sai Baba has come to remind mankind about this fact and help him to realize himself.
