About the Book
Around 1966, when the author was in government service and was enjoying the comforts of material world, he had applied for a day's leave from his office on a hot summer day. While reclining on a chair reminiscing on his action of having squandered a precious day's leave without any 'valid reason', he received by post a copy of Sathyam Sivam Sundaram, the life story of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, which he had ordered some days earlier most reluctantly, unable to withstand the pleadings of his mother. He was not a follower of Bhagawan Baba at that time. Unwittingly he started browsing through the pages of the book. Forgetting food and drink, he literally did not get up from his seat until he had finished the book. By the time he completed the book, he was a totally transformed man. He had found his God. Bhagawan Baba had answered the prayers of a pious mother to transform her son. This incident happened about four decades ago, but he has not looked back after that eventful day; and he continues to be an avowed practitioner of the teachings of Bhagawan Baba in letter and spirit. In this book the author has described many facets of Bhagawan, as a student, reformer, educator, architect, scientist, healer, humorist, liberator etc. and also His revelations. For the seekers of Truth this book will be of great help.
Preface
Like many others, I too have had quite a thrilling experience with Bhagawan Baba some three decades ago. But I kept my pen and paper away from it, for I never felt the urge of writing a book. Then why now? I believe, He willed it only now. Because when my friend Dr. T.K. Sudarsan virtually prevailed upon me to write this book, I was prompted by my inner voice to yield, as it might help me subdue my monkey mind which evaded submission all these years. I began to adore Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba as my chosen God some thirtyfive years ago without any hesitation. For me Rama was.... Krishna was.... because Sathya Sai Is. Like c'her authors I too had to borrow stories with a tag of authenticity from some sources to substantiate my points in the process of writing this book. I am grateful to them. The computer printouts and corrections were laboriously done by my son-in-law, Shri K.K. Nair. My thanks are due to hira. I am ever grateful to the merciful Lord Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba whese grace enabled me to do this work.
