Foreword

Many of us think that Madras must be performed only by Yogis and Saints But, except for few, most of the Mudras can be performed by all. It is important to leam and practice them under the guidance of a proper Gun These Mudras and Bandhas need not be practiced daily. Only those Mudras which are required according to the current health conditions can be practiced. Asanas are designed to strengthen various organs in the body. It is important to know that Asanas are different compared to exercise. Exercising strengthens the muscles, but with no effect on the nerves. Whereas, the Asanas have a great effect on the internal organs of the body too. While the results of exercising are physically visible, the results of asanas are subtle. Compared to Asanas, Mudras are more subtle and deep. They are related to the vital energy of the organs in the body. They can be used to activate the Gnanendriyas to rectify the ailments. Mudras aid to focus the vital energy on various organs of the body to help relieve the related ailments. Thus, only Mudras can help towards proper circulation of vital energy throughout the body.

Physical body is dependent on Pancha Bhootas or Five elements. This book "Sampoorna Mudra Vignan" gives necessary knowledge to keep the five elements in a balanced way. This Book is written by comparing the five elements with Bhagavan (the god). Bhagavan means Bh=Earth, Ga=Sky, Va=Air, Un-Water+Fire. These 5 are considered as Pancha Bhootas or five elements.

Mudras are used to control Mind, elements in body and energy circulation. These Mudras are used in Yagnas, Vaidika Karmas, Hatha Yoga prakriyas, in temples, in godly rituals, sculpting of statues, Dance etc. Mudras are a bridge to the internal and external worlds. For best results, Mudras can be combined with Pranayama or Dhyana.
