Book Description

Introduction

The perennial quest to understand the ground of existence has inspired countless philosophical, theological, and scientific systems throughout human history. Among these, the Advaita Vedānta tradition stands out for its uncompromising insistence on nondual reality-Brahman as the one eternal essence, beyond all dualities of subject-object, time-space, and causality. Yet, while classical Advaita tends to treat Brahman as ever-present and changeless, certain contemporary thinkers have proposed a more dynamic portrayal, one in which Brahman's "self-activity" unfolds into creation, sustenance, and dissolution of multiple local universes in an endless, non-final cycle. This book aims to explore, in depth, a metaphysical system that begins with "absolute nothingness," posits an "uncaused emergence" of Brahman, and describes a multiverse of local universes that arise, evolve, dissolve into Brahman, and re-emerge in seamless continuity. It builds on the 2025 paper "The Ultimate Truth: A New Understanding of Advaita Vedanta," which supplies the foundational axioms and definitions. In doing so, we will: Clarify foundational concepts-absolute nothingness, Brahman, srşți, sthiti, pralaya. Elucidate the structure and dynamics of each local universe as a self-contained spatiotemporal bubble within Brahman's undivided reality. Examine the continuous, non-final cycle of emergence, evolution, and dissolution back into Brahman. Investigate philosophical implications-on nonduality, causality, the nature of time and space, and the status of individual selves. Compare this model with classical Advaita Vedānta, Mahāyāna Buddhist perspectives, and modern cosmological theories (e.g., cyclic models in physics). Address the role of consciousness and liberation (mokşa) when all "events" are simply facets of Brahman's "eventing." Offer practical reflections on how this view informs meditation, ethics, and daily life, fostering a sense of unity and continuity. By the end of this 150-page, twelve-chapter volume, the reader should possess a comprehensive understanding of the model-its logical coherence, its affinities and departures from tradition, and its transformative potential for thought and practice.
