Since time immemorial the very existence of humans on earth is based on the threshold of faith and it's this faith that paves our path in life till we cross the ocean of mundane existence. Each one has his or her own faith, which varies from one being to another. Some worship God in a particular form, some connect to the Lord within and some others see God in their Karmas. We may worship God in any way, call Him by any name, admire Him in any form but the aim of all is the same-self-realisation, merging of the self into the selfless or the divine, illuminous self within, it revealing itself to us.
Since we humans dwell in a form, hence it is easier for us to worship God in a form. We do believe in the omnipresence of God but being ourselves bound to a form we are not able to fully understand and assimilate the formless nature of God. To play on the strings of devotion within us, to remove the veil of Maya engulfing us, to introduce us to our own true self, to show us a glimpse of the Lord Almighty, to use this decaying body as a means to reach the immortal, Lord Himself incarnates on this planet earth, as Ram, Krishna or Sai. Through His varied leelas in each incarnation the Leeladhar explains to each one of us; practically shows us through His bodily deeds that how we mortals can attain the Lord even while dwelling in the bondages of a body, how we can reach the omnipotent, formless, our true self through the medium of this body, how we have to attain that true self and ultimately lose ourselves in the identity of the Lord.
Lord incarnated in this Kalyug as a saint-Sai. Sai meaning the Lord God Himself, making Shirdi His Karma Bhoomi and all His life He lived in a dilapidated mosque. He, through His apparent deeds taught us how to live a simple, satisfactory spiritual life, how to live a satiated life as it's a gift of God to us. While executing our duties with full dedication and honesty we must always keep chanting the Lord's name. Dedicating all our deeds, our life at His Lotus feet, we should have complete faith in His name and His grace.
While in Shirdi, Baba showed innumerable leelas, the deeper and true meaning of some were revealed there and then but some were and are still being unveiled with the passage of time. The deeper and true meanings hidden behind each leela have not been fully understood by anyone and it's difficult that anyone can unveil so many different messages to their true depth. Yet when His grace is showered then some precious jewels do surface from that deep ocean-Sai.
The so called bodily functions, deeds, big and small experiences showered on His devotees are called His leelas. His leelas are His silent language, oozing ambrosia, which are understood to the deepest core by very few. We are bound to His Lotus feet mostly due to the miracles, which were performed bodily to ignite faith in us, we were and are unable to gather the deeper meaning of the miracles performed and the true meaning remained behind the veils. This silent truth, the divine depth of Baba's incarnation, sometimes surfaced as a result of His grace. This hidden truth, the divine depth Sai, which was not understood by us, in His miracles or words, kept saying something in its silent, yet deep voice. This effort is an attempt to put to light, unveil, gather and understand these silent yet deep messages of Baba. This is purely a shower of Sai's 'grace'. This mortal coil, the thoughts, this name are merely means, rest all is the Lord's grace, the magnificent doing of the leeladhar, Sai who is the doer of all.
