About the Book
The main purpose of Samhita Adhyayan-1 (Study of Ayurveda Classical Text) teaching is to enable the students to read, understand and proctice the Samhitas. Samhita is nothing but an ancient Practical Manual of Ayurveda. Samhita teaching and learning process need to be practically oriented for a better understanding of the subject. It is the need of time to make some addition in the current teaching and learning process of Samhita to make it more relevant, practical, and contemporary. The present book is basically Intended for the Under Graduate students of Ayurveda studying First Professional BAMS course subject includes Ashtanga Hrudaya Sutra Sthana 1 to 15 chapters and Charaka Samhita Sutra Sthana 1 to 12 chapters. Arrangement of chapter in this book according to syllabus include Mula Samhita with Anvaya and English translation and important cross reference from other Samhita have been collected. The present book covers all important question and Multiple-choice question (MCQ) chapter wise.

About the Authors
Prof. Shashirekha H. K. completed Graduation and Post-Graduation in Ayurveda Samhita from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore, Karnataka and Ph.D in Ayurveda (Samhita) from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeta, Pune Maharashtra. M.A. (Sanskrit) from Karnataka State Open University Mysore, Karnataka, M.Sc. (Psychology) from Madural Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu and M. Sc. (Yoga) from Periyar University (PRIDE), Salem Tamil Nadu. She published many articles in various Peer Reviewed International Journal. She worked as Associate Professor in the Department of Samhita and Siddhant at Sri. Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara college of Ayurveda and Hospital Hassan. Karnataka. Currently she is Professor and Head In the Department of Samhita and Sanskrit at Faculty of Ayurveda (IMS), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. She is acclaimed teacher for Graduate, Post Graduate and Ph. D scholars.
Prof. Bargale Sushant Sukumar completed Graduation and Post-Graduation in Swasthavritta and Ph.D. In Ayurveda (Swasthavritta) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore, Karnataka. He completed M. Sc. [Yoga) from Periyar University (PRIDE), Salem Tamil Nadu and M.Sc. (Psychology) from Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu. Currently working in Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga at Sri. Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital Hassan, Karnataka.
