According to the greatest Hindu epic Ramayana when Lakshmana was severely wounded by indrajit during the war against Ravana, Hanuman was sent to fetch the Sajivani booti, a powerful life restoring herb from the Dronagiri mountain in the Himalayas, to revive him. Ravana realized that if Lakshmana dies a distraught Rama would probably give up.
When hanuman was unable to find the specific herb before nightfall. He carried the entire Dronagiri mountain to the battlefield in Lanka thus helping others find the herb to revive Lakshmana. An emotional Rama hugged Hanuman and declared him dear to him as his own beloved brother Bharat.
