Description

Preface

Sattatvaratnamala of Tamraparni Anandathirthacharya is a theological work following the thelogical tration of Dvaita Vedanta and Vaisnava religion. In Indian cultural tration, theology and philosophy are not separate. Philosophy provides the doctrinal basis for theology and theology prescribes the practice of the religion based on those doctrines.

In this work, there is a detailed description of God and His role as a Creater, Sustainer and Destroyer,. The concept of God in Dvaita Philosophy and in Vaisnava religion is a positive concept. God is full of auspicious attributes, and auspicious activities. Every thing belongs to Him. He is the centre and prime mover of the enitere Universe. All other entities are real but subordinate to Him. Infinity that is holistic and all-inclusive is considered as God. The concept is fully developed under the chapter on Narayana in this work. There is a detailed account of the procedure of meditation, devotion and liberation. The nature of non-sentient entities, soul and other deities is also explained. It is a very useful handbook of Dvaita theology.

Vidwan Ramakantha Joshi, the traditional Research Scholar of Dvaita Vedanta Foundation has edited this valuable work. Vidwan Vadirajacharya has prepared a Kannada summary of this work. The foundation places on record its appreciation of the hand work of these young scholars.

Sri M.K. Raghavendra Rao, has donated the cost of publication of this work. We thank him for his munificence.
