Astrology is a sacred science that transcends ordinary interpretation, unveiling hidden truths woven into the fabric of the cosmos. As in any great creation whether earthy or metaphysical the bases define the final outcome similarly in astrology; the basic understanding of the chart lies in understanding the signs and the houses. The houses are the first layer, signs the second: the reader must know that when a natal chart is erected as per the birth time, the signs move out to different houses, nevertheless, the houses as per the time chart or the kaal purusha the founding base stay fixed. The signs are the secondary layer that circulate on the fixed houses known as the time chart or the kal purusha. Interestingly the same sign that rules the houses of the zodiac starting from Aries, can change as another ascendant as Scorpio or Capricorn depending on birth time or the time of erecting the chart. This first layer of permutation creates the first impediment. The twelve houses of zodiac that form the bedrock of astrology, are the founding stones of the natal chart. While stepping up we never give importance to the first step, but it is the first that will lead to the last. The third layer is formed by the planets that are transiting eternally. It is this study of the sign and houses that forms the primary and the secondary layer. The third layer is the position of planets and its related aspects knows as PAC an abbreviation for Position, Aspect, and Conjunction. The complexity deepens further when the strength of each planet is taken into account. As one journeys through these layers, countless permutations and combinations emerge, shaping astrology into the most ancient and cryptic language of the cosmos. All the signs have unique symbols and they act as a veil for the unversed. To predict well, student must study symbols, keeping in their wide ramifications and seek beyond the obvious.
