पुस्तक परिचय ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार (1993) द्वारा सम्मानित भारत के विश्वविख्यात उड़िया कवि श्री सीताकान्त महापात्र का यह संग्रह उनकी सारस्वत साधना का अप्रतिम दस्तावेज है। जैसा कि पुस्तक के नाम से ही स्पष्ट है, इसमें सीताकान्त जी की तीस वर्षों की काव्य-यात्रा के अनेक पड़ाव हैं जिनके साक्षी हैं अनेक रंग, रूप और रेखाएँ। विराट् फलक पर जीवन के इन्द्रधनुषी आयामों को उजागर करने वाली इन कालजयी कविताओं को पढ़ना हिन्दी कविता के सुधी पाठकों के लिए, निस्सन्देह, एक अद्वितीय अनुभव होगा।

लेखक परिचय 1937 में जनमे सीताकान्त ने उत्कल, इलाहाबाद तथा कैम्ब्रिज विश्वविद्यालयों में शिक्षा प्राप्त की। 1975-77 में होमी भामा फेलोशिप पाकर 'भारतीय आदिम समुदायों की आधुनिकीकरण प्रकिया' का अध्ययन किया। सामाजिक नृतत्त्व विज्ञान में उन्होंने डॉक्टरेट प्राप्त की है। अब तक उड़िया कविताओं के उनके 12 संकलन, 4 निबन्ध-संग्रह, आदिवासी कविता के अंग्रेजी अनुवाद प्रकाशित। हिन्दी तथा अन्य भारतीय भाषाओं के अलावा अनेक विदेशी भाषाओं में रचनाएँ अनूदित-प्रकाशित । ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार, साहित्य अकादेमी पुरस्कार, सोवियत लैण्ड अवार्ड, सारला पुरस्कार, कुमारन आशन पुरस्कार, राज्य साहित्य अकादेमी पुरस्कार आदि से सम्मानित ।
