With Gratitude... From Us Our humble pranams at Bhagawan Baba's Lotus Feet and salutations to our loving parents, Dr TB Mathan and Smt Lakshmi Mathan. We are so very fortunate to have been born into this pious family whom Bhagawan loved so dearly and has blessed abundantly. Bhagawan always speaks about Sathya, Dharma, Shanti and Prema as the four cornerstones of life. Our parents practiced and lived these values till their last breath and also taught all of us to lead our lives in a similar manner, ever immersed in His contemplation and glory, which we try to emulate as much as we can. Our respected mother penned this book in Tamil. It recounts in minute detail the journey to Sai and the many interactions with Him. It's difficult to fathom His grace except that it's His Infinite Love and Compassion that made it possible for us to bask in the warmth of the spiritual splendour during His stay with us in our home in Ooty. The moments we had in the presence of Swami cannot be adequately expressed in words. It is as if all this took place just yesterday! So immense is His love that memories are still evergreen. This book was translated much later into English with a single-minded effort to keep the translation as original and close to the Tamil version as possible. This stupendous effort was carried out by Smt Vanaja and Smt Prema, the 3rd and 4th daughters of this family. The onus of typing this book, proofreading and making it ready for publishing was undertaken by Mrs Vanaja & her son Sri Pradeep S, who studied in Swami's school in Puttaparthi for six years (1982 to 1988). Due to age and various other circumstances, our parents were not able to publish this book during their sojourn on earth. To publish this book and place it at Swami's Lotus Feet was their fervent desire during their lifetime, which we, as a family, were able to fulfil almost a decade after our parents had merged with Swami. Of course, it is only due to Swami's 'Will, Love and Grace' that we are able to place this book as an offering at Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Lotus Feet on the eve of Swami's 100th Birth Anniversary.
