About the Author Dr. Praveen Balakrishnan is presently working as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Eye Diseases (CCRAS), Lucknow. He had completed his graduation from Pankajakasthuri Ayurveda Medical College & Post Graduate Centre, Trivandrum and Post graduation in Shalakya Tantra from Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan, Karnataka. He had worked as Assistant Professor in Vishnu Ayurveda College, Shoranur for couple of years. He has received Late Paranjape Award in 2012, Vaidyaratnam P.S. Varier Award two consecutive times (2013 & 2014) and Vaidyaratnam ET Neelakanthan Mooss Award in 2016. He has published three books and several papers.

Preface The Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal has been conducting Annual Ayurveda Seminars in connection with the founder's Day Celebrations since 1964 and All India Essay Competitions since 1965. The proceedings of seminars and prize winning essays are being published regularly. They cover a wide range of topics and have become a veritable source of information to the students and researchers in the field of ayurveda. 'The theoretic frame work of SROTORODHAM and its clinical applications" was the topic for essay competition in 2017.
