I do not claim to be an expert as I embark on this monumental journey of writing a series of books on the Mahabharata. I am but an eager student, captivated by its profundities and mysteries. My courage to dive deep into this sacred epic comes solely from the blessings of my gurus, mentors, and teachers. As I venture into the many unknowns, I offer my respects to Sage Vyasa-the divine architect of wisdom, the sage who saw, compiled, and gifted the world the Mahabharata, the essence of all knowledge.
This is my second major literary expedition after Ramayana: The Game of Life-a six-volume series on the Ramayana through the lens of life lessons. The overwhelming love and encouragement from thousands of readers-curious seekers and seasoned spiritualists alike-has emboldened me to explore the Mahabharata. The Ramayana series had taken a decade of intense study. At more than four times the length, the Mahabharata demands an even deeper and more expansive exploration.
The Mahabharata is more than just a story about kings and wars. It is the mirror of life that reflects the deepest truths of human nature, destiny, and dharma. Ramayana: The Game of Life followed a structured, linear retelling of the epic, but my approach to the Mahabharata is markedly different. I call it 'story analytics' a fusion of immersive storytelling and sharp character analyses unfolding in a non-linear, non-chronological fashion. The first step toward realizing this vision is Icons of the Mahabharata-a multi-volume series centered on key personalities from this magnificent epic. This series goes beyond a mere retelling; it is an expedition into this ocean of existence through the lives of these extraordinary personalities.
