Nature and the grooves of Vrindavan celebrate the union of Radha-Krishna, with Basant (spring) in its full bloom. A vivid depiction of the Prema-Lila (divine plays of love) of Radha-Krishna, this acrylic on canvas uses rich colors, delicate expressions, and soft gestures of the heavenly subjects to create a mood of romance with its aesthetics. Surrounded by a vibrant red, the color of passion and sensuality, Radha and Krishna embrace each other, as blossoms and butterflies surrounding them bring the ambiance of spring to mind.

Krishna, attired with an intricately patterned Pagdi (headgear), ornaments, and red garments, exudes splendor from his blue form and gently smiling countenance. Standing blissfully in his embrace, Radha is adorned with green, the color of fecundity and fortune. Flowing lines in the soft hands, eyes, and forms of Radha and Krishna remind one of Rajput miniatures, where Radha-Krishna is a primary motif of eternal love and romance, the archetype Nayaka and Nayika, whose affections are enchantingly immortalized in this artwork.
