In this batik we find a clear shift from traditional theme and colours. The theme represents simple beauty of womanhood and the colours chosen are mauve, neon green, orange and pink besides others. The artist views the lady standing in the arched window in the dark, silent night. She stands in a frontal stance, looking sideways. The turn of her head shows the sharp features in clear profile. The slant of the eyes, the upturned lips, the pointed chin together make the attractive face. Simple and elegant ornaments add to her beauty. Dressed in colourful clothes, She waits for her beloved. The movement of her hands show anxiety as do the restlessness in her glance.
The artist has selected vibrant colours for the protagonist but the background has somber colours depicting bleak situation. The grey of the night and the leafless tree symbolize the lack of exuberance and the full moon shows repressed desires. This is an emotive and aesthetic way of representing a theme.
